FAQ
Everything you might want to know.
Sign in & account
How do I sign in?+
Signing in is simple. Kuusi uses Sign in with Apple, so you can get started with the Apple account already on your device.
Do I need a Google account to use Kuusi?+
No. Kuusi works without Google. Connecting Google is completely optional and only needed if you want to import photos from Google Photos.
How do I delete my account?+
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. This removes your account data, your remaining uploaded photos, device notification records, and groups you created, and removes you from groups you joined.
Photos
Who can see my photos?+
Only the people in the group you shared them with can see them. Kuusi is designed for private, invite-only sharing with the people you trust.
Can I edit or delete a photo?+
Yes. You can manage the photos you uploaded in the app whenever you like. You can only edit or delete your own photos.
Can I import photos from Google Photos?+
Yes. If you choose to connect your Google account, you can bring photos into Kuusi from Google Photos. It is an optional extra, separate from signing in.
Can I disconnect my Google account?+
Yes. You can disconnect your optional Google account in the app. Kuusi only uses Google access so you can choose photos from Google Photos to import.
How many photos can I import at once?+
Right now, you can select up to 10 photos at once, whether you use your device photo library or Google Photos.
Groups
How do I create a group?+
You can create a private group in the app in just a few taps, then start sharing photos with the people you want to keep close.
How do I invite someone?+
Each group has its own QR code that you can share. The person you are inviting can join by scanning it in the app. Invite QR codes are valid for 24 hours.
How many people can join a group?+
A group can have up to 50 members, which gives you plenty of room for family, close friends, or a mix of both.
Can I leave a group?+
Yes. If you are a member, you can leave a group from the app. If you created the group, you may need to manage or delete it instead.
What happens if I delete a group?+
Deleting a group removes it for all members and permanently deletes the photos in that group.
Subscriptions
Is Kuusi free to use?+
Yes. The free plan includes 1GB of storage, up to 3 groups, photo previews for the last 2 years, and feed ads.
What do I get with Premium?+
Premium gives you more room to keep growing your shared memories, with 50GB of storage, access to all photo previews, up to 10 groups, and no feed ads.
How do subscriptions work?+
Premium is managed through your Apple account as an auto-renewing subscription. You can manage, cancel, or restore it anytime through Apple.
Privacy & support
Is Kuusi public or private?+
Kuusi is private by design. It is made for small, trusted groups and is not a public social feed.
What are notifications used for?+
Kuusi uses notifications for new photo batches, service updates, and app announcements. You can control notification permission in iOS Settings.
Why does Kuusi ask for camera and photo access?+
Photo access lets you upload photos to your groups. Camera access is used to scan QR codes for group invites.
Does Kuusi store my Face ID or Touch ID data?+
No. Face ID and Touch ID are handled by iOS. Kuusi uses them only to unlock the app locally after you sign in.
